I make this in the crockpot about once a calendar month. I apply organic chicken goop and bootleg taco seasoning. This can be easily made to stretch by throwing in a drained/rinsed tin of corn and a tuckered/rinsed tin of blackness beans. I like to top it with deep fried tortilla chips and a dollop of sour cream.
Very adept, healthy. I used homemade chicken broth and cooked chicken. Instead of a package of taco seasoning, I sprinkled a picayune sea salt, black pepper, chili pulverisation, onion powder, garlic pulverization, paprika, cumin and oregano over the chicken broth.
I converted this recipe into a crock pot dinner that worked out great! I boiled 2 chicken breasts (whole) until cooked (just a few minutes) then added them to everything else in the pot, minus the cornstarch mixture and the toppings. And then, it all simmered merrily all twenty-four hours long. Later, I shredded the chicken with a fork and added the cornstarch mixture, turning the temperature from depression to high for the soup to thicken. I served it with shredded cheese and cilantro, similar it suggests, simply besides offered Greek yogurt which, when stirred in, makes the soup prissy and flossy. I normally exercise a lot of circuitous cooking, only we have a new babe (!) and then this recipe of can-dumping simplicity was PERFECT for a decorated weeknight dinner. Everyone really enjoyed it. Cheers!! Oh, P.S.--I likewise dumped in a can of black beans.
I Seriously can't draw just how good this soup is! Not just is this delicious on it's own, you lot can add together to, or take out, any of the ingredients that y'all may non accept on hand and information technology volition still come out AMAZING! I used home made craven stock, some rotisserie chicken, a pocketbook of frozen corn, a can of black beans, drained, and just went with it. I did add in 3TBSP cornmeal that I mixed with water to use as my thickener instead of the cornstarch, to give it a dainty corn background taste, and I also added in virtually iv modest corn tortillas that I cut into strips and only added into the mix. I can just tell you that my husband can't finish eating it and neither tin can I! When serving it, I put some corn tortilla chips and shredded cheese in the bowl, and so added the soup on top of that. I Love AVACADOS and since they were on sale here, I bought one and diced it upward to add to the top of the soup. I as well added a dollop of Mexican crema to it, only my husband went with straight sour cream and LOVED It! Information technology is truly Heaven on earth! So adept! Give thanks you lot ladyw4kids! Nice job!
This was the easiest only tastiest soup ever! I broke up tortilla chips in the lesser of the bowl and spooned the soup over it. Added a alloy of Mexican shredded cheese, and used my favorite light-green Tabasco sauce. I like it spicy! So good!
We liked it. I added a can of blackness beans to make it more than filling, used more chicken considering we needed more than meat for our family unit, used Ro-tel which comes in 10 oz cans so I used ii of them...etc. Petty changes. I don't run across why anyone would non similar this if they similar the ingredients. Yous can switch up the ingredients, add some extras, etc. and have a tasty, cost-effective meal on the table in minutes.
YUMMY YUM YUMMY! my kids and hubby LOVED this... my kids used tostios scoops instead of spoons and my married man added a shredded flour tortilla to his.... nosotros have decide that during the winter we will have this soup ane a calendar week..... However I added Veggies to mine, such as Corn and black beans, and did not put in the green chilli's.... thank you and then much for sharing the recipe....
pretty good, just will probably add together my ain spin next time. (Enchilada sauce in the soup base, grilled corn, and make it a bit thicker)
Really spicy but oh so skillful! Family really enjoyed it. They want to effort it with shredded craven the next time. I don't eat cheese so on my basin I put a dollop of sour cream. The kids also put some crunched up tortilla chips on summit. This is definitely a new family unit favorite.
I admittedly loved this recipe! Every bit did the rest of my family! The only matter I added was a tin of southwestern corn and Heavy whipping cream, just other then that it is delicious just the way it is! Thanks for sharing!
I tried a couple of recipes for this soup and I institute this recipe to exist the best. I actually just threw everything into the crockpot forth with a can of blackness beans and about a cup of corn to requite it a fleck more than substance. When I got habitation, I took the chicken out and chopped it upwards and put the rest of the soup in a pot on the stove and added the cornstarch which thickened upward the soup nicely. I added the chicken back in and served. I also put a few tortilla chips in the bottom of the bowl earlier I poured in the soup. I had available sour cream, cheese, fries and avocado for topping. I volition probably use a bit less taco seasoning next time every bit I am very wimpy when it comes to spice. Information technology was succulent and my skinny husband fifty-fifty had two bowls!
Fast, like shooting fish in a barrel, and tasty. My husband and I loved this soup!
Loved this soup, this was a hit at my house. Followed the recipe and it was great as is.
Fifty-fifty adding a can of chili beans, it still seems to be lacking something. But very expert overall.
I made this today. Everyone Loved It.
Really good simply a bit too spicy for my family. We used a minor tin of balmy ROTEL tomatoes and chiles. Side by side time I would only utilize diced tomatoes! Thank you for sharing!
This was proficient, but felt like there was something missing in the flavor and I didn't really care for the texture given by the cornstarch.
Made this post-obit the provided recipe. I also took the suggestions of others and added blackness beans and corn, so threw some chopped up jalapeños in there to boot it upwards a notch. I crushed some tortilla fries and placed in the bottom of the bowl, then topped the soup with cheese n sour foam. I should also mention that any ingrediants that came with the pick of existence hot or spicy that I went that route...cause I like it that style. This soup is amazing! It reminds of a soup I would go at a local articulation that closed down several years ago. I may have made waaay besides much, just that's alright...information technology'll get eaten.
Easy and delicious! I browned corn tortilla (cutting into strips) in a skillet and served on top, forth with fresh avacado. I take also added corn and yellow squash, along with fresh jalepenos for extra season. It'due south skillful either way!
This was the best taste for the to the lowest degree time in the kitchen! Followed the recipe, with 3 exceptions: I had a chicken breast and leg quarter already cooked so added this chopped meat halfway thru cooking. Added an additional 15oz can of diced tomatoes for added heartiness and needed to add about one/2 tsp footing cumin to bring the flavor upwards. The oestrus level from the light-green chilies was perfect. Oh, and it didn't need the cornstarch at all. The soup was thick enough without it. We sprinkled fresh cilantro on top and my son stirred a dollop of sour cream into his. We loved it! Thank you for posting! We will accept this often!
Really practiced every bit is, I added some black beans to information technology besides.
I make this soup at to the lowest degree in one case a calendar month. It is fast and piece of cake and everyone in the family unit likes it. It goes together even easier when I utilise precooked shredded chicken from the freezer. I also add frozen or canned corn for a little sweet.
Was non that practiced. It was very spicy but not the rich type of spicy with an indepth flavor that I was looking for. It is basically tomatoe soup with too much taco mix.
I ever endeavour the recipe exactly how information technology is given. I idea it was bang-up!
This was so delicious and then piece of cake to brand!! I highly recommend this peculiarly on in a cold winter dark!!!
Everyone loved this. I used fresh Roma tomatoes, took the skin off and mashed them. I chopped a poplano pepper and threw it in. I am in Mexico now and can't become the canned tomatoes and canned chilies that I like to use. I shook in a little more cumin and served it with a bottle of green hot sauce so fokscould spice it upwardly themselves.
Add some blackness beans, pinto beans, and roasted corn for some taste, texture, and more filling. Besides with sour cream as well with avocado and so you have a existent tasty soup.
This was very skillful and easy! A great calendar week night meal that my kids fifty-fifty loved! I cooked the chicken get-go in taco seasoning and so shredded. I did everything else according to the recipe and yummy! I will for certain brand this once again but I volition probably add a can of blackness beans for some more texture.
This has become a bi-weekly soup in our house. I normally double the recipe so my wife can take some to her employees at work the side by side day. The only thing I do different is to deep fry strips of corn tortillas to put on the bottom of the bowls and also on top as a garnish, and I also add a dollop of sour foam with the cilantro. This is a large striking with everyone!
I made no changes except a couple of squirts of chili sauce. I used fresh avocado on peak and sliced tortillas. My family loved it except for the youngest who thought it was also spicy. This was easy and fun to brand and will definately be a favorite.
This was very very good. I doubled up the recipe for a 1.5 lb. chicken. Volition definitely brand this once again.
The just change I would make is that next time, I will mince the onion before cooking it. A dandy cold-weather meal, this is yuuuummmmmmmy!!
My fellow made this for dinner tonight. The recipe turned out really well he added a can a white beans which helped it a lot, rather than adding a Mexican cheese blend nosotros added Mexican cream which really made a huge departure and made it more versatile. If y'all tin't find Mexican cream; sour cream would work really well besides. I then put pepper jack on summit of that because I honey cheese.
I love this soup! I honestly cannot become enough of it. I likewise drain and rinse a can of corn and a tin can of blackness beans and throw them in and also add well-nigh a cup of cooked rice. I crush up tortilla chips and add them to it forth with a dollop of sour foam and a pinch or two of shredded cheddar.
This was so yummy my husband had 2 big bowls. I added a tin of rinsed blackness beans and topped it with avocado slices and tortilla chips. Simply to dice for, attempt it you won't regret it.
Delicious soup! I added all the ingredients raw into the Crock-Pot. I used my ain seasoning (cumin and Chipotle Chile powder) instead of the taco parcel. Fried the tortilla strips instead of bake. Topped with avocado and cilantro. Will definitely add together this to our rotation.
We used diced tomatoes with habanero peppers to spice it up a little. We also added navy beans and stirred in some of the shredded cheese.
Easy and delish. I added black beans and corn and it was yummy
Awesome recipe! I added a tin of corn and a tin can of blackness beans equally others have suggested to brand it more hearty. It was quick and like shooting fish in a barrel and succulent! Just the right amount of spice for our tastes, and loaded with flavour. I volition definitely make this over again!
Made information technology exactly as written except I shredded the craven after simmering information technology in the broth. A cracking base recipe leaving open additions to taste like beans, corn, corn- meal, and cilantro. Also very fast! 1/eight cup of jar taco seasoning equals 1 packet of taco seasoning
Fabricated this for my family unit and they loved it. Great recipe, follow recipe exactly. Succulent!
Great results with minimal try. This is one whatsoever Dad can pull off to impress the family. I threw in some corn and black beans to chunk it up a bit
It's an okay recipe to start with, but there are a few things that I modify. The first is that this is a recipe for tortilla soup that does not include tortillas of any kind, so I add some sparse crispy tortilla strips when I serve mine. I besides advise melting butter in the pot and cooking the chopped onions on their ain until they're tender earlier adding the other ingredients. I don't quite like the flavor of the taco seasoning, so I've tried it with enchilada seasoning, fiesta craven seasoning, and white craven chili seasoning, all McCormick brand. The last modify I make is that I stir in the cilantro toward the terminate rather than putting it on top, so that the season sinks in a little more than.
Great recipe! I add hominy to make information technology a little fleck like lite Posole:)
Liked it but I put in some "Habanero Rotel" and then information technology was a flake on the spicy side. Similar the recipe and volition brand again. Cracking with Avacado.
Crawly soup, used taco seasoning mix from this site and added black beans. Excellent recipe
So so easy and wonderful! Spoon over chips, add together avocado and sour foam and I am in love :)
Wonderful soup. I used rotisserie chicken and Bill Echols taco seasoning (on this site). I also froze leftovers in individual portions to take to work for lunch. Makes a nice change from takeout
Added tortilla fries at the end and covered it for a little crunch nether low rut.
This was quick, like shooting fish in a barrel and yummy! Added a can of corn and black beans and crunched up tortilla chips. Definitely will brand this over again!
This was my showtime fourth dimension making chicken tortilla soup and I must say I was impressed. I cooked the chicken in the crockpot with the taco seasoning and chicken goop and onions. Afterward 7 hours on depression I removed and shredded the chicken and then added it back to the crock pot forth with the other ingredients. I served the soup with Texas tortilla fries.
Dear information technology!!! Quick and easy, definitely keeping this recipe!! Thanks for sharing!
Excellent "base" recipe. I add together beans (blackness or pinto) and black olives when I accept them. I observe the all-time craven stock to utilize is "Amend than Boullion" and I make i tsp to every 2 cups of water to ease on the table salt. Substituted dry cilantro for fresh, as that's what I had on hand. Served over tortilla chips with sour foam on top. Yum!
This was a very quick and like shooting fish in a barrel recipe. My family loved it!!
I added half-dozen corn tortillas, one can corn, one tin crimson kidney beans. Also added cumin. I used three chicken breasts and doubled the recipe.
This was actually easy to make. Served with Tostitos and the shredded cheese. Everyone had seconds.
This is 1 of rmy favorite recipes. I take even shared information technology with colleagues at work whom are equally thrilled with this recipe. And so piece of cake and delicious!
I similar this recipe and information technology is very delicious! I recommend calculation black beans to make it a little more filling, and shredding the chicken. But too that this recipe is wonderful!
Will definitely make information technology again!!
Added blackness beans and an extra cup of broth and then it would use the whole box. It turned out not bad on a chilly day. We paired it with quesadillas to make it a meal.
I used a rotisserie craven in the soup as well as added frozen corn and canned black beans for a heartier soup. Cheddar cheese and sour cream every bit garnish make the dish delish!
Delicious soup! Added 2 tsp minced garlic, fresh parsley and fresh oregano, 1 tsp chili pulverisation and one/2 tsp footing cumin (since I did non accept taco seasoning and had but regular style diced tomatoes
This soup is so easy to make and has so much flavour. My family and friends always come dorsum for more than.
I have made this several times my family LOVES information technology. I make 2 adjustments 1. I add beans (kidney, pinto or white beans or all three) and a small bag of frozen corn. I also simmer the chicken breast in the crock pot overnite with finely chopped onion, celery, garlic & bell pepper. We live in the Midwest information technology'southward a nifty dish for cold snowy night.
I added a can of Mexi-corn to the recipe and we served with tortilla chips, sour foam and cheese. Information technology was delicious!!!
Thought this was very easy to make!! I omitted the cornstarch and just made it earlier in the day and left information technology on depression and stirred it occasionally. My hubby, unbeknownst to me, added almost 2 cups. We take an 11 year quondam and a 4 twelvemonth onetime and the BOTH liked it. Yeah!!! It's a win in my book and will make it over again!! Sense of taste fifty-fifty ameliorate the next day!!
I love this elementary and quick recipe. I dearest the fact that it is one pot on the stove and no browning of the chicken first. My whole family enjoyed the soup that I fabricated it again two weeks later. I used low/no sodium tomatoes, a can of balmy green chiles and added some chopped up corn tortillas to add even more substance. Nosotros served it with fresh sliced avocados on superlative and the Lime Flavored tortilla strips found with salad toppings. I would bring this soup to a new neighbor or sick friend. Proficient for all ages.
We actually loved this recipe. I added an actress can of tomatoes and some corn. Besides topped with avocado, cheese and tortilla chips. A little spicy but my hubby loved it.
Added two ten ounce cans of Ro-tel tomatoes with chilies. Succulent!

So proficient!! I used turkey left overs from thanksgiving. Such a perfect recipe!
Dearest this! I added a southwestern grain and vegetable mix and used fire roasted tomatoes to add some spice. Super easy!
Easy, fast, used already cooked rotisserie chicken. My fellow ate ii bowls for dinner...then finished off ii bowls later the same evening.
Made this tonight with some modifications. I added a tin of black beans and a can of corn. I also used 32 oz. of chicken goop. I used tortilla strips on top and cut upward some avocado. Easy and splendid!
I cooked the craven breasts with the onion in the broth in my Instant Pot for v minutes. I shredded the chicken and added the seasoning, tomatoes and a cup of frozen roasted corn and cooked for another 15 minutes. I did not add the cornstarch. Topped with chopped fresh cilantro and avocado, it was great. Side by side fourth dimension I'll add together black beans.
It was and then easy to brand and very delicous!! Adjacent time I volition double the receipe.
Very good! I used my ain bootleg taco seasoning rather than the parcel and added chopped green chili peppers because I merely had apparently diced tomatoes. Other than that, I made it as stated. I could hands put my own spin on this recipe by adding corn or beans, or top it with sour cream, tortilla chips, avocado etc.
So simple... but I used a crock-pot. I added tomatillos and pureed the tomatoes, and added a jalapeno. Had some leftover, frozen, roasted chicken thigh and leg, and threw it all in and let it stew for 2-3 hours (longer information technology will get better). The chicken shredded like a dream. Added the corn starch around the edges where it boils and information technology was perfectly thickened. Next fourth dimension I'm using sour cream, instead of cheese, and it could use a splash of lime. The taco seasoning was my favorite part, made it so savory and delicious!
So yummy! I added corn and black beans. I didn't employ the corn starch but cutting two corn tortillas very thinly. Meridian with cheese and tortilla chips! Delicious !
Very yummy. I made my own broth with h2o and bouillon cubes and my ain taco seasoning mix with mexican-seasonings. Browned my onions and lots of garlic earlier adding the broth and other ingredients. Put tortilla fries in the bottom of bowls and topped with lots of avocado! Could eat information technology every night!
so and then good and very easy. I added blackness beans. extra yums
Soups alright but it needed so much tweaking that it makes it into a whole different recipe. I needed something fast but I could have made something better in the aforementioned amount of fourth dimension this took.
I had craven tortilla soup years ago at a party and it was the best soup ever. I've tried making it myself from other recipes but, never could find one that tasted as adept until now. Wow!! This was wonderful. Later picking everything up from the store, I ran habitation to brand this recipe. Information technology smelled wonderful and the taste was out of this world. Thank yous lady!!
Piece of cake to make and it tastes so good. Thank you, I will go far again for sure.
This was And then practiced. Nosotros are having very cold temps in our area and this warmed everyone. Fabricated as written simply added some zucchini and summertime squash that needed eating. YUMMM This was the perfect end to a day exterior in the cold current of air. Thank you ladyw4kids for a winner.
Very expert... I as well added corn and blackness beans and the family opted for fritos instead of tortilla chips. Also added in light-green peppers with the onions. I didn't have the tomatoes with the chilis, only plain tomatoes and I know that made a difference, I volition definitely get them next time. I too call up that I could add more than of the taco seasoning. I will definitely make this once again.
This recipe never disappoints, it came out so delicious and anybody got up for seconds
I made it as written, although I cooked and shredded craven ahead of time. I topped with cilantro, shredded cheese & tortilla fries. It was delicious & easy. Will definitely make again!
Very easy to make and delicious. I add together corn and hatch green chile to it.
This was the best soup I take made!!!! Great spice and oh so like shooting fish in a barrel!!! A definite keeper
Nada special. I added corn and I am glad I did considering in that location was nothing else in the soup.
The slow cooker folks seem to have the right idea! Cooking this for the suggested fourth dimension didn't give it the thickness that I wanted so I ended up letting it simmer on the stove top for a fiddling while (stirring occasionally) and it helped a lot. I besides added a can of southwest corn, a tin of black beans, and a scrap of enchilada sauce in with the chicken broth based on other reviews. I don't think this recipe would have been nigh as expert without it unfortunately. The corn and beans added a lot of flavor and substance to the meal, and it seems like virtually of the v star reviews involve that improver. I'thousand giving it iii stars for being such a good base of operations recipe. I needed some condolement nutrient subsequently finals calendar week and this didn't disappoint. Will definitely make again!
I added almost a cup of black beans I had just cooked. Make the stock from a rotisserie chicken I had just taken the meat off of. SOOOOO delish with that stock and the beans.
Delicious soup and piece of cake to brand! I only used ii 1/2 lbs of craven and it was nonetheless a little as well much, then next time I'll endeavour just 2 lbs. I like it a little more brothy so I only added nearly 1/4 the thickening the recipe calls for. The spice was perfect for my family unit...since I like it a piffling spicier, I added a couple of shakes of a hot sauce. I will be making this often for my family unit, we loved it!
Easy as tin can be! I used rotisserie chicken, added a can of corn, rinsed black beans and enchilada sauce...and so yummy! Bringing it to a tailgate party this weekend! Thank you for sharing!
corn or black beans make a hearty addition
I added diced tomatoes in a can and it was delicious.
And so succulent!!!! I added half a cake of cream cheese though cause my husband idea it was a bit spicy... But information technology's phenomenal with or without it. Definitely will make again!
